Autumn Workshop: Creative Prompts for Getting Unstuck
Wednesdays in Amsterdam - October 28 and Nov 4, 11, & 18, 19:00-21:00
Creative writing is process of showing up to the page to experiment with possibilities—a process available to us even and especially when we feel stuck or uncertain or uninspired. As the days grow shorter this workshop is designed to be space for coming together in a warm and inviting space to explore as writers. Each session will offer in-session writing prompts. This is called a generative workshop: a shared space, at once generous and rigorous, in which to experiment, to create, to explore.
You can show up with a project underway, or you can come without any sense of what you might want to write, hoping to find out (you will!) Everyone is welcome. Each session will offer writing prompts as well as—always optional, but warmly invited—time for sharing our writing. There is no ‘homework’: our work together will happen in our sessions in the form of writing, listening, and sharing.
The class is suitable not only for writers but for anyone with a depth of experience in another discipline (theater, dance, improv, visual art, etc) and a curiosity to try something new. Cost: €250. Location TBA, likely in Amsterdam Oost. To sign up, fill out the form below, or for any questions about the workshop, please email me.
